I started my career in the dental field as a part time temporary receptionist and immediately fell in love with the job! And now 14 years later I am the full time Office Manager here at SmileWorks Dental Group, and I still love it just as much as the day I started! I am a very social person, so I really enjoy the interaction with all our patients and my co-workers every day! I love the continuous learning opportunities this career gives me everyday! I grew up here in Lloydminster and have raised my daughter here as well. When I'm not at the office, I like to read, travel and most of all watch my beautiful daughter doing the thing she loves most, DANCE!
I started working in the dental field with Dr. Jones and Dr. Schmidt back in 2012 and it was the best decision ever! The crew here at SmileWorks is like a family so it is really easy to enjoy being here! Outside of being a dental receptionist, I am mom of two beautiful gingers that keep their Dad and I very busy!
I started with SmileWorks Dental Group as a part time receptionist in February 2017 and quickly fell in love with the job and my co-workers. I couldn't wait to learn more aspects of the front end and quickly moved into a full time position. My husband and I share four beautiful daughters together and six wonderful grandchildren. When I'm not at work you can bet you'll find me spending time with one or all of my grandchildren!
I have been a receptionist here at SmileWorks Dental Group for just over 3 years. I enjoy going to work everyday because the ladies here aren't just my co-workers, they're like my family! My favorite part of the job is meeting and helping our patients schedule for their dental needs. When I'm not at work I'm running kids to hockey and dance. I also enjoy spending time with family and friends!
I have been a dental assistant for 31 years and 18 years of my career has been working at this office. I enjoy all aspects of my job, especially educating people on dental care and the importance of good oral hygiene. In my free time I enjoy spending good quality time with my family and friends. My husband Mark and I have been in Lloydminster for 24 years now, and have raised our 3 children here. As a family we enjoy camping, hiking and playing frisbee with our dog Charlie! Some of my hobbies are reading, drawing and gardening.
I have the pleasure of being the person with the most experience "in life" at our office! Although the dental field was never on my radar when I graduated from high school, I'm glad I took a chance at a dental office 43 years ago. In total I have worked 37 years in the dental field, with the last 27 years as a Registered Dental Assistant. The variety of general dentistry never makes for a dull moment there is always a new skill to learn in this ever changing profession. I love catching up with our patients when they come in to see us, and hearing about their families and what they have been up to. I think that's the best part, all the people I have met and worked with! When I'm not at work I love spending time with my husband, two kids and five grand kids. Travelling, spending time watching our grand kids in their chosen activities and spending time at our cabin, at Loon Lake, are some of my favorite things to do! My favorite quote is "the way I see, if you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain" Dolly Parton. I sure have been lucky...I've seen a lot of rainbows!
I have been working as a Registered Dental Assistant since graduating from N.A.I.T in 2003. Lloydminster is my hometown and the place where I have worked in dentistry most of my professional career, with the exception of a few years spent working in a Prosthodontic Dental Clinic in Edmonton. It was there that I was able to develop my skills in impression taking and lab work. Seeing smiles transformed is the most rewarding part of my job! I am married 15 years to my high school sweetheart, Khristopher, and together we are blessed with four beautiful children, Allie, Owen, Garrett & Paisley. Choosing to spend those early years at home with my littles acquiring my 'Domestic Engineering Certification' I grew a love for gardening, canning preserves, baking and warm cuddles on the couch with a good book, usually authored by Robert Much or of a similar variety. I remain active in the community as a member of our church's children's ministry leadership team and an executive committee member on the school council 'Parents as Partners'. I joined the SmileWorks team in 2017 and feel very privileged to work along side this wonderful group of ladies!
I have been a Registered Dental Assistant for over 10 years, sitting chair side with Dr. Schmidt for 8 of those years. I graduated from Columbia College in 2009 and received my Orthodontic Module in 2017. I really enjoy working in this fast paced industry, my favorite procedures to assist in would have to be extractions and crown and bridge. Another favorite part of my job is working with Invisalign patients and watching them achieve that perfect smile they have always wanted! I also really enjoy working along side Dr. Schmidt at the hospital providing dental treatment to patients that may not be able to have work completed in the chair at the office. When I am not at work I am busy raising two kids and taking care of two dogs! We love camping in the summer and hibernating in the winter!
I have been with SmileWorks Dental Group for 2 and half years now, as the sterilization aid/assistant, and I'm loving it! My favorite thing about working at the office is all the laughs us girls have together and all the treats that come our way! After a busy day of work I love coming home to my 2 cats, Lexi and Mya, and wonderful husband, Jeff! In my spare time I really enjoy camping with my family and biking!
I began working in the dental field 40 years ago (Fun fact: that was so long ago that when I started assisting no one wore gloves or masks) my how things have changed over the years! I have worked at SmileWorks Dental Group for the past 3 years along side Dr. Bexson. We have a great team and I love the new technology Dr. Bexson and Dr. Schmidt have invested in. Prior to that I worked with Dr. Jones for 25 years, even got to work with him in this new office before he retired. I love my career and enjoy all aspects of my job, but mostly interacting with and helping our patients feel at ease during their dental visits! My family consists of my wonderful husband of 38 years, Fred, our amazing son Sean, our long awaited daughter in law Mandi, and our 18 year old cat Holly. Still waiting patiently for grand kids! When not at work (which is often, as I only work 2 days a week LOL) I enjoy golfing, yard work, golfing, reading and golfing. Not much of a winter enthusiast except winter vacations where I love to do my most favorite thing in the world...collecting sea glass...and of course golfing!
Upon high school graduation I was like all young girls, eager to go explore the city life, so away I headed to N.A.I.T in Edmonton to pursue Dental Assisting. Going to my own Dentist I always watched the assistant work side by side with the Dentist and admired how they would work so well together and just how they treated each and every patient with care and compassion, so that helped me make my decision to become a Dental Assistant and of course the whole learning about teeth!! My favorite part is working and meeting a diversity of people and getting to know each and every patient. Working in the dental field for 30 plus years has not only taught me how to help patients with their fears, phobias, likes and dislikes, it has also taught me how to effectively work along side a great group of co-workers. Outside of work and living in the country I enjoy going for quiet strolls, gardening and spending time with my family, working along side them on our bison ranch. Interesting fact: I have never been through a pandemic before and truly hope to never have to go through one again!
I graduated from N.A.I.T in 2011 from the Dental Assisting program and have loved working in the industry ever since. I love interacting with so many wonderful people and helping them with all their smile needs. When I'm not at work I love reading and enjoying the outdoors with family and friends.
I graduated from Dental Hygiene at the University of Alberta in 2005 and have since been working in the dental field for 15 years. I have been with the team at SmileWorks Dental Group for 12 years. I love working with patients to prevent gum disease and achieve great oral health. I love working with children and helping them learn about keeping their smiles nice, healthy and bright! I am originally from Lloydminster and love living in the community I grew up in. My husband, Tyler, and I have 2 beautiful children, Benson and Mila. When I'm not helping people with their smiles and oral health I enjoy running, eating sushi and spending quality time with my family and friends!
I have been in the dental field for 17 years and still love it today! I was a Dental Assistant for the first 6 years and have now been practicing Dental Hygiene for the last 11 years. I have always been fascinated by teeth and the first thing I notice about a person is their smile! I love answering patients dental questions and providing them with my dental hygiene knowledge during their cleaning appointments! In my spare time I love to travel and learn about other cultures. Right now our travel plans are on hold, as our 3 little children keep us quite busy, and I am currently completing a Masters program through the University of Alberta.
I graduated from the U Of M in 1982 and started my career as a Registered Dental Hygienist. Having been in the dental field for 38 years I can say with certainty there isn't a better field to work in! I love every aspect of my job, from the patients I get to meet and interact with to the amazing co-workers I get to work with everyday! My husband, Les, and I have 3 wonderful children and 7 beautiful grandchildren! In the summer I love being at the lake and in the winter I love getting away to somewhere hot!!!
I graduated from KDM Dental College last year and completed my practicum here at SmileWorks. I recently completed my Orthodontic Module at the University Of Alberta. Fun fact, my Mom assisted for Dr. Jones and I now have the opportunity to work alongside some of the same wonderful ladies she did! My favorite part of my job is being able to interact with patients of all ages! Outside of work I enjoy spending time with family, doing yoga and sewing!
